The Baby Boomers Market … a Significant Opportunity 10 Tips to Define Business Culture for Your Company

Social engagement - the key to building customer relationships

These days more and more companies are turning their attention to social commerce business. Meaning ?  The simple meaning is they believe that they need more attention to building customer relationships .

From customer relationships comes trust, the most important factor in a customer selecting a company with whom to do business.   The secret to building customer relationships is customer engagement and there are many ways you’ll need to engage customers. Here is a good personal example of mine from last month.

When we left the restaurant the other day, I carried more than a sandwich out the door.  The receipt in my hand would save me $2 off my next meal purchase — and give me the chance to win $500 or an iPad – if I filled out the on-line survey.

In contrast, when I visited another lunch place a few days later, my receipt noted only the company’s web site address and the words ‘for more information’.

Can you guess which receipt did the best job of engaging me and inspiring me to go online and which one ended up in the trash?

It is clear which of these companies will be more successful in building a social commerce business.

Do you effectively leverage online surveys to learn more insights about your customers and their needs?

Don’t be surprised to find that some of your competitors are using this technique to target your customers.
